Birthday Card Challenge @ScrapOrchard & Reminders

Create a birthday card (or spring/Easter would work too) and show it off in the gallery as well as post back to this thread. Everyone who completes a card by Tuesday 12pm noon EST will be entered to win a $10 gift card to my store. Don't forget that most of the Market is on sale for 35% off (including all my hybrid goodies)

*Includes two word arts - similar - to use if you want -- you do NOT have to use them*
Download the template: http://www.4shared.com/zip/pyjZKrUf/..._cardtemp.html

BONUS - Purchase a template from my store and create a matching project to go with your card - then you will get a coupon to spend that same amount in my store on another template!!! That is like saving an additional 50% off.

And a couple reminders – if you have not changed the batteries in your smoke detectors – change them. If you have not rotated the food (unless it is THRIVE) in your 72 hour kits rotate it (or you don’t have one – get one). And if you have not backed up your computer lately – DO IT!

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2012!  The last part of December just skipped right on past me – I honestly have no idea where they went.  Regardless I have lots of great ideas for the blog during the coming year, including fun new inspirational posts a couple of times a week. Be sure to set my blog up in your blog reader or follow me so you can stay up to date!

If you are here for the LDS blog train… keep reading all this great information and you will find the freebie below.  You should have arrived from Hot Pink Pansy.

Monday - Monday Mix (Hybrid inspiration and tips from around the web & at home)
Wednesday - Wacky Wednesday (All kinds of fun stuff – not usually digi related)
Thursday - Tutorials & Tips
Friday - Friday Fun (examples created with that weeks product &/or a freebie)
Sunday - Krisi's Scraps (when I have scrapped something)

Looks like fun huh!  Oh and I have my own domain name as well, you can visit by just going to www.krisiskreations.com now!  While I seem to have this blog all figured out, I have yet to figure out a solid posting schedule for my Shelf Reliance blog – but I do plan on posting a little more frequently there as well.

Now for what I have as part of the blog train. I have some wall art for you, or you could size it down smaller and keep it on a desktop or nightstand.

Sunshine & LDS Blog Train Wall Art too!

Busy day here on the blog. I must first start by saying where did August go? My kids have been in school for a month already – it just seems CRAZY!  Welcome to everyone, those who stumbled upon my blog, those who are here from a freebie site, those following the LDS blog train, and those who support me each week by checking in here and buying something that stimulates your own creativity!  If you are riding on the LDS Blog Train you should have just come from My 4 Princesses designs at http://my4princessesdesigns.blogspot.com/

For the first time I have created something for the September Mix A Kit at ScrapMatters.  I have this fun Wall Art, but be sure to check out every thing really well.. Remember that if you have a photo layering program (like Adobe Elements, Adobe Photoshop, Creative Memories SBC, etc.) you can change the color of each item before you print them.  For those without a photo layering program I have included a JPG and PDF version for you to just send to the photo lab and have it printed.  This is the case with all Wall Art that I create.  You do have the option to have me customize the colors for $5 more.

I just love how bright and cheery it is. Check out this one that I did up for my daughters room.

sunshine_rebecca

And until Sunday you can get them for 20% off – spread the word!

For the LDS Blog Train this month I chose this saying.  I hope you enjoy the Wall Art that I create for the LDS Blog Trains every other month – let me know if you do!  If you have a saying you would like to see – let me know in the comments. If I choose your saying you will receive the product free!

Available on 4Shared.

The next stop on this train is Let Me Scrapbook - http://letmescrapbook.blogspot.com/.  If you got lost along the way check the LDS Blog Train Blog for a complete list of participants.

Just a side note – Shelf Reliance is now offering a gluten free line!  We carry things such as Amaranth, Quinoa, Millet, and Rice Flour.  If interested in ordering just send me an e-mail or check out that blog at www.thrivefoodhomestore.blogspot.com

Oh yeah - Chelle of Chelle’s Creations is having a little giveaway of her newly released kit – it has been revealed but you still have a chance to win it – head to her blog at www.chelles-creations.com   Here is a little peek for you!

Hybrid Challenge: Banners, Flags & Bunting! Oh my!

Hi, Rebecca (ReboScraps) here to tell you about this month's Getting Hybrid challenge over at Scrapmatters. These challenges are a great way to get some tips about using your digi goodies to make real life pretties!

I picked Krisi's Banner Templates for my hybrid project. This pack includes 5 different shapes, and each shape comes in 3 sizes.

For my project, I used the rectangle, and also the one with the curvy shape on the bottom (in the preview, it's just peeking out there under the photo of the Happy Birthday banner) and created this little DREAM banner:

I often make hybrid projects to giveaway, whether it's a card or a little box for gift wrap, and this time I wanted to make something creative I can enjoy. I picked a scrap kit that matches my bedroom colors (Timeless Elegance by KimB.) On the panel for the letter "A" I added the quote by Henry David Thoreau that is also shown on the layout above:

"Let go of the past and go for the future.
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.
Live the life you imagined."

Come play along in the challenge and make something beautiful for you!

Card Challenge! Win a $5 GC

I thought it might be fun to start the year with a card challenge.  Cards are a great way to start getting into hybrid. Everyone loves to receive a homemade card.  I created this simple template that begs for a great pattern paper on it and a simple sentiment.  Change up the template a little or use it as is. I have included templates for just the card front as well as a full card.

and a look at the inside.  I simply took the inside part of the template and added a small strip of the patterned paper to the bottom - leaving plenty of room to write a personal note too.

And here is a look at the template.

You can enter two ways... right here on the blog or over at MScraps.  All you need to do is upload the layout to your favorite gallery {giving me credit for the template of course} and come back to the blog and link me up.  Once you have entered you can earn additional points for blogging/twittering/facebooking your card and a link to my blog so your friends can participate also!

Where can you get the FREE template?  Right it here at 4Shared.

Hope you will participate.  If you have any questions... just ask.

Candy time... already! new template

This past week {well two weeks} has been a bit hectic.  We took the girls on a surprise trip to Disneyland. We had a great time but ended up telling them early when we got into an accident on the way there {well really someone a few people hit us}. Thankfully we were all ok, just delayed an hour or two, and my van has been in the shop all week - thank goodness for insurance as the damage total wasn't pretty {more than $7,000 to be fixed}.   Next week I will be having surgery. I don't think I will have any new release items for you but I might be bringing another fun template over to Scrapable, do you have a favorite template of mine?

Can you believe that it is already time for the halloween candy to start circulating? I have a great way to give a little treat - with this cute candy box!

Halloween is definately in the air as a few of the examples show off some fabulous autumn/Halloween kits available out there in digi-land!

Let's get right to business!

This week I am also bringing my Tumbler Drink template to Scrapable.

The winter season is approaching {in the Northern Hemisphere} and these make great gifts!  My tumbler came from a well known coffee chain that starts with an "S".

Don't forget about the challenge happening over at Scrapable.net - you can find the details in this post or this thread.

I did some sewing... on a card!

I might not have even mentioned here {blushing} that I have been guesting this month for Laura Banasiak of simply.scraps.  I have had a lot of fun working with her products and this is my most recent thing created - this fun card.

itsaboycard

I also created this fun box with perfectly holds a gift card in it!

its-a-boy-gift-box

If you would like either of this items... you can find the templates in my store and the fun alpha and baby stickers are in Laura's store @ Gotta Pixel. I also used the papers from Growing with Love from spinkydink designs.

The card was created for the following challenges:

http://pileitonchallenge.blogspot.com/ - 5 cutout shapes (3 circles and 2 rectangles)
http://cutedaisymay.blogspot.com/ - blue & green
http://totallytilda.blogspot.com/ - stitching
http://madebymomo.blogspot.com/ - babies

The box was created with this challenge in mind:

http://robynsfetishchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ - Anything BUT (a card)

Grrr. I had done this for a bunch more challenges but alas they ended before I got my card posted. This was a good start though!  BTW a huge thank you to my CT member Dalis who has a great blog called Pile It On which REALLY helped me combine challenges for the card!

Here is a little preview of the two templates here:
